CHERRY HILL SOCCER CLUB (CHSC)

CODE OF CONDUCT

It is one of the principles of the CHSC that all club members and participants, including spectators, at all times maintain the highest standards of ethics and sportsmanship. The ethics and sportsmanship of the players, coaches, officials, parents/guardians and others associated with the game must be exemplary and beyond reproach. Everyone participating and watching must conduct himself or herself so as to be a credit to the sport and the CHSC.

CHSC does not tolerate any verbal, physical or written discrimination related to race, gender, ethnicity, disability, sexual orientation, or religion from club board members, coaches/trainers, players, parents/guardians, game officials or spectators.
 

Any breaches of this Code of Conduct Policy may result in a coach, parent/guardian or player suspension and a member’s removal from the Cherry Hill Soccer Club at the discretion of the CHSC Board of Directors. 

Coaches

·Coaches shall set a positive example and should see themselves as role models and ambassadors for the CHSC.  

· Coaches shall foster a positive environment, with a focus on teamwork, soccer skills and player self esteem.

· Coaches shall motivate players so that they will control themselves at all times, thereby preventing any unsportsmanlike conduct to teammates, opponents,
   officials, or spectators.

· Coaches shall not tolerate actions by players which are physically dangerous to teammates or opponents, such as players deliberately kicking another, fighting
   between players, etc.

· Coaches shall not incite players to retaliatory actions whatever the provocation, or imply to the player his/her dissatisfaction with the game officials.

· Coaches shall not intimidate, or have an undignified discussion with, or concerning a game officials.

· Coaches shall only direct remarks to their own team players. They must not use their position to upset or intimidate opposing team players.

· Coaches must:
    - never use foul language at a game or practice site.
    - avoid comments and gestures that express disagreement with referee  decisions.
    - cooperate with any request by game officials.
    - never smoke or consume alcohol beverages on the field location at team events, practices or games.
    - follow club guidelines for minimum playing time

Players 

· Players shall make every effort to attend all team events, practices and games and give coach as least 24 hours notice when unable to attend.  In the case of last
   minute emergencies, notify coach as soon as possible.  

· Players shall be punctual and ready at the time they are required to be present at all team events, practices and games.

· Players shall maintain a positive attitude during all team events, practices and games and encourage their fellow teammates at all times.

· Players shall give full effort at all times and follow the directions of coaches and trainers.

· Players shall not do anything with intent to physically harm a teammate or opposing player.

· Players shall not verbally abuse their coaches, fellow teammates or opposing players and coaches.

· Players shall not intimidate, or have an undignified discussion with, or concerning game officials.

· Players understand that some players may earn more playing time than  others as certain games are more competitive than others and that playing
  time received will be based on factors such as coach’s selected formation and player’s effort, ability and attitude at practices and games.
 

Parents/Guardians

· Parents/Guardians shall set a positive example for the players.

· Parents/Guardians are not to incite players to retaliatory actions whatever the provocation, or imply to the players dissatisfaction with the game official.

· Parents/Guardians may only direct remarks to their own team players. They shall not upset or intimidate opposing team players.

· Parents/Guardians shall not intimidate or have an undignified discussion with, or concerning game officials.

· Parents/Guardians will support their team coaches and managers consistently regardless of results on the field. Coaches contribute many hours of their time to
   your children, so they deserve your congratulations when the team wins and your encouragement when the team doesn’t.

· Parents/Guardians shall communicate any concerns to the coach at the appropriate time (giving at least a  24 hour cool off period) away from the playing location
   and other players, parents/guardians, spectators and game officials.

· All Parents/Guardians must:
    - never use foul language at a game or practice site.
    - avoid comments and gestures that express disagreement with referee decisions.
    - cooperate with any request by game officials.
    - never smoke or consume alcohol beverages on the field location at practices or games.

· All Parents/Guardians understand that:
    - they must inform any of their guest spectators of the CHSC code of conduct  and they are responsible for their guests’ behavior.
    - any parent, guardian or spectator who fails to adhere to these standards will be required to leave the playing area, and play will be suspended
       until he/she does so.
    - CHSC reserves the right to suspend or terminate a player’s enrollment for his or her parent/guardian’s persistent or extreme sideline misbehavior,
        and there will be no refunds of player fees in such cases.
